Growing up on horseback in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, California, Rachel's love of the Northwest comes as no surprise. When she's not behind the chair she’s spending time with family, adventuring through Oregon with her dog Suzy, or enjoying the bars, restaurants, and chic shops around Portland (if you need cute spot ideas, she's got you!)

Being a 3rd generation hairstylist, you could say the family business came naturally. After graduating from Paul Mitchell beauty school in San Francisco Rachel moved into the esteemed apprenticeship program at Oxenrose Salon where she specialized in haircutting (her first love) then completed an apprenticeship for color (her obsession).

 

Hungry to learn more, Rachel furthered her education with Vidal Sassoon, DiPietro Todd, and Bumble & Bumble, getting certified in Brazilian blowouts and balayage techniques. 

Following the years of fine tuning her skills in San Francisco, she decided to take what she’d learned to a new home in Portland (yes, she's one of those). After landing at two reputable salons and making a name for herself in a new city, Rachel (with help of family and friends) decided to take the leap and build her private studio space - ROAN.

Although she's serious about damn good hair, Rachel’s easy-going personality makes an experience at ROAN relaxing and exclusive.
